Thematic Research

Atom-surface interaction, van der Waals or Casimir-Polder type, as observed through high resolution laser spectroscopy techniques, including selective reflection spectroscopy. Quantum fluctuations of  a hot vacuum (i.e. at  nonzero temperature). Mesoscopic gas and one dimensional or multidimensional confinement  of a vapour in a nanocell,or in an opal. Quadrupole-type, or higher order interaction between an atom and a Laguerre-Gauss beam, or a laser bema bearing an orbital angular momentum.
